WHO WORE WHAT?.....88th Annual Academy Awards: Brie Larson in Gucci

 Brie Larson in Custom Gucci

Brie Larson is almost a sure bet to win tonight's Oscar for Best Actress, so the pressure is immense to choose a dress that will be iconic and remembered forever. For her very important night, Brie chose a Custom Gucci Gown.

Personally, I'm not sure if this was the best choice for her. While she obviously looks beautiful, I feel that the proportions aren't right for her body and there is almost too much going on with this gown. The pleated AND ruffled skirt, the encrusted waist and the plunging neckline with chiffon edging all is a bit overwhelming.

I do love her hair and the beautiful Diamond brooches make her look like a "Oscar Fairytale Princess"!!

Retro Bellissima: Gucci Fall/Winter 2016

WHAT: Gucci Fall/Winter 2016. Creative Director Alessandro Michele's Fall 2016 collection for Gucci was inspired by seemingly polarizing themes such as Catherine de Medici, Asiana, 70's Sport with a "dusting" of 80s Glam Fab. Big shoulders, Pouffy gathered Leg o' Mutton-like sleeves, turbans, diamante-studded Disco sunglasses and bodices straight out of 16th century paintings are just some of the looks seen on the latest Gucci runway. Michelle collaborated with New York street artist and musician Trouble Andrew to spray-paint the "GG" logo on skirts and jackets...

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2016 SAG Awards Red Carpet: Nicole Kidman in Gucci

 Nicole Kidman in Gucci

Nicole Kidman wore this pink, lilac and violet sequined gown from Gucci. Gucci's new designer Alessandro Michele (he's been Creative Director since last year) has been shaping up the fashion world with his "Geek Chic/70's" new look to the House of Gucci and I guess Kidman (or whoever styled her) thought she would look divine in one of his newest creations. I may have to disagree. This was a bit of a mess. While I give her points for going "out there" (as "out there" as one can go nowadays at these otherwise boring red carpet events), this style was a bit too Cirque du Soleil-meets-Valley of the Dolls...

Trompe L'oeil Gucci: While the gown may look like it is ruffled, it's a trompe l'oeil effect (an illusion) which is quite interesting in terms of the dress but I just don't think it translated well on the red carpet. Now, if she wore this in Capri with gold sandals while drinking a Campari and Soda, I would have probably thought she looked bellissima!

With that being said...What do you guys think of this on Nicole Kidman? Yay or Nay?
